NewsCreative Civic Change Cultural Visits with Leaders of Tomorrow

Earlier this year Peckham Platform launched a new cross-generational and cross-cultural project to champion meaningful and creative civic change in Peckham.

In a context of growing inequality, the project seeks to present a contrasting narrative to the often negative perceptions of Peckham. As we begin Year 1 of the project Tilting The Mirror we are working with community groups in the area such as Peckham Park Baptist Church and Leaders of Tomorrow who are part of The Peckham Partnership. An approach to fostering relationships between the groups and generations are through cultural visits where there is an opportunity to engage with art and develop ideas towards the project.

To close 2019, the cultural visits with the groups included the Olafur Eliassonin: In Real Life exhibition and the Kara Walker exhibition at Tate.
