The Message We Bring is an audio based artwork created during the pandemic by local youth and elders with the support of artist A.G. Over the course of three weeks, The Message We Bring will be a space for celebration, performances and workshops with local artists and creators hosted at The Peckham Palms.

The soundscape will be played from Tuesdays – Saturdays, 12pm – 6pm. You are welcome to pass by without booking for this.

The Message We Bring: Celebrate With A.G

Celebrate the launch of The Message We Bring with musical performances by A.G at The Palms.
Join us as we celebrate memories of togetherness, personal histories and hopes for the future with two musical sets curated by A.G. Her high energy, genre crossing mixes have ignited events for Red Bull Music Refractions, Fabric, and Mixmag.

The Message We Bring: Collage Workshop With Birungi Kawooya

Join us as artist Birungi Kawooya teaches you the technique of making simple but impactful collages with African print fabric. Afrocentric and contemporary, Birungi Kawooya’s work is rooted in self-love, expression, and heritage.
A public presentation of the art created at this workshop takes place on Saturday 24 July 2021. You can select tickets for this when signing up to this event.

Join us for a performance with artist Chisara. With dub-inspired, jazz, hip-hop and indie rock elements, and an EP released this summer, you are invited to an acoustic set with the Peckham and Madrid based artist.

Workshop
The Message We Bring: Pop-Up Library With Resolve Collective

Join us as we celebrate memories of togetherness and hopes for the future with Resolve Collective. Passers-by are welcome to participate in story-recording activities, such as ‘emotional mapping’ which uses mapping our emotional connections to our neighbourhoods as a way of understanding the city, and ‘DIY phonographing’ which uses available home materials to create a makeshift, physical recording device. Both activities will be centred around peoples’ stories and recollections of Peckham.

No need to book, simply drop by The Palms between 12pm – 6pm
