NewsVolunteer with us!
Peckham Platform is a creative and educational charity located in a public gallery on Peckham Square, SE15. As an organisation we believe that communities can inform and shape their engagement with their locality by working with contemporary visual artists. Our programme of commissions creates meaningful and accessible social arts practice for Peckham and beyond, providing an expansive platform for different voices and debate, bringing contemporary social practice alive. We are a small and dedicated team of paid-staff who are supported by a team of volunteers who assist in gallery invigilation and help with our daily Learning Activities.
If you are looking for experience in an arts organisation and are passionate about engaging local communities with arts practice, then this volunteer position is perfect for you. In this role, you will engage with local audiences through front of house operations, events and talks during the week and at weekends. Ideally volunteers will have good communication skills, an enthusiasm to work with children and have great team spirit. We are looking for volunteers who can commit one day a week for a period of six months. The gallery is open Wednesday-Friday 11am-6pm & during the weekends from 10am-5pm.
