NewsWeston Jerwood Creative Bursary - Appointment

Through Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries we’re delighted to welcome Laurèl Hadleigh as Learning Assistant to the team.

Laurèl is a creative and grassroots activist whose work centres environment, connection and agency. She believes alternative learning is essential and should be accessible to all. As a member of the collective, Sorryyoufeeluncomfortable, she has facilitated events and workshops in spaces such as Iniva, The Welcome Collection, and The Showroom. Laurèl graduated from Wimbledon College of Art in 2015. Her personal practice is documentary-based, occupying the space between journalist and storyteller.

The Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries programme provides talent development opportunities for recent graduates from low-income backgrounds. Through it, Jerwood Charitable Foundation and its partners seek to change the socio-economic barriers that skilled graduates entering the arts workplace are facing. The programme provides paid entry-level placements at leading UK arts organisations, supported by a structured programme of ambitious professional development and peer mentoring.
