Garudio Studiage

Artists

From humble beginnings working in a garage amongst sand, stray cats and broken car parts, the collective now makes art and objects for sale and exhibition.

The creative collective in south east London was set up in 2004 by Chris Ratcliffe, Laura Cave, Anna Walsh and Hannah Havana. With individual specialisms in screen printing, jewellery and painting, the group also work together and with friends, taking part in exhibitions and events, as well as making props, displays and products.

In 2011 Peckham Platform invited Garudio Studiage to create an interactive illustration exhibition inviting the public to create their own fantasy shops for Peckham’s Rye Lane. In 2012 Peckham Platform co-commissioned Garudio Studiage to create Peckham Peace Wall, a permanent artwork celebrating a wall of post-it notes of love and respect for the area which grew on Rye Lane following the London riots in 2011. The riots began after the police shooting of Mark Duggan, a 29 year old black man living in Tottenham, north London, who was wrongly suspected to be carrying a gun. Peckham Peace Wall launched on 8 August 2012 to mark this one year anniversary.

Their work was also part of the 2016 Peckham Platform Retrospective exhibition, a timeline of all 20 artists commissions realised by Peckham Platform between 2010 – 2016.
